Journal revisited: Write over it

Journal revisited is a three part series where I go over old journal pages and re capture the rawness and expression that went into them, to loosely guide others to release, feel and find strength through journaling.

Write over it is an A5 two page spread (though can be done on A4 too) and is really easy to do and an effective way to release things you want to say or things you’ve been thinking without reading over them and dwelling. It’s also a good way to test out new pens and markers without attaching a perfect outcome.

These pages can be made up of many layers of pencils, pens, pastels, thick markers – anything you can write with!

Materials to make these pages:

  • Paper or journal
  • Biro pen
  • Coloured pencil
  • Highlighters
  • Felt pens
  • Markers

  1. Start by writing freely with the smallest pen or biro first
  2. Continue writing with a thicker pen
  3. Keep writing with a range of pens till you are satisfied you are done!
